Yeah, I don’t know about that being some ancient proverb. I couldn’t find any reference to it other than one “Catholic Quotes” site and the 2015 movie Point Break, which is where I found it. There are other quotes that have similar meaning throughout history, I think I have even published one or two in this section before, but this one stood out as being honest in its acknowledgment of fear that our lives just aren’t enough if we don’t do crazy ass shit.
Yeah, that might be the source of that desire for the adrenaline rush. But then again, might not…
